  • Insights from regional leaders driving IS initiatives across the Northwest, from Wenatchee, Pasco and Longview, to Boardman, Portland, and Astoria

  • Meet the top elected leaders steering IS policy in the Northwest

  • Hear from the industrials making IS projects a reality at their Northwest facilities

  • Mingle with the top innovators from Denmark, the world leader in IS

What is Industrial Symbiosis?

Industrial symbiosis (IS) is the practice of harvesting waste streams (energy, water, and materials) from one facility to be repurposed as a valuable resource for another. Pioneered in Denmark, IS is a ground-breaking approach to infrastructure and economic development, which can strengthen local economies, reduce waste, and enhance environmental outcomes just by doing more with existing local resources. Learn more about IS here.

Who should attend?

This conference is built for leaders advancing economic growth by breaking down sector silos and forging partnerships across the industrial landscape. Attendees will explore successful local projects, learn from Danish IS business models, and collaborate on scalable solutions to regional economic challenges.

What does the Center for Sustainable Infrastructure do?

CSI is a regional convener, focused on driving new industrial strategies and cross-sector collaboration in industrial projects. This conference builds on CSI's extensive experience coordinating IS study tours, pilot projects, and regional partnerships. CSI's partners, collaborators, and study tour alumni are fired up and ready to implement Industrial Symbiosis solutions. Many of our Alumni's projects are ongoing and build upon connections made in Denmark to implement real world change!
