Virtual Reality Paint Systems
A look at two systems designed to teach manual spray paint techniques
Iowa Waste Reduction Center and Johnson Simulation Center
There are two commercially available systems developed to teach manual spray paint techniques to painters. Each system is distinct and rather unique in its own right, but either can be used to teach proper technique to inexperienced painters or to teach improved efficiency techniques to experienced painters. Below is a link to the video and information for the system developed at the Iowa Waste Reduction Center at the University of Northern Iowa. The second link connects you to the website for the Johnson Simulation Center at Pine Technical College in Minnesota. The last link is a downloadable file demonstrating the Johnson VR system. To view this sytem, right-click on the link, select "save as" and choose the location to store the file. This is a large file (179 MB) and is in Quicktime movie format.
