Membrane Electrolysis
Description
- Pass electrical current through electrolytes separated by an ion specific membrane, causing the ions to either:
- pass through a selective membrane
- become oxidized or reduced
- Typically used for bath maintenance of chromic acid; mostly in hard chrome or chromic acid anodize

Advantages / Limitations
- Maintains lower concentrations of metallic impuriites
