• have an inspection and/or maintenance plan for all process areas
• major process equipment
• valves
• pipelines
• tank integrity
• secondary containment integrity
• record dates for all entries
• note deficiencies needing correction
• record what action was taken and the date
• include routine maintenance and repairs
• may be integrated with Quality Control process measurements
