Diffusion Dialysis
Description
- Acids from the process bath are transferred through an anion specific membrane into deionized water
- Metals are passed out of the treatment system, and the acids are recovered
Advantages / Limitations
- 80 – 95% acid recovery
- 60 – 90% of metal contaminants removed
- Does not require an electrical potential or pressure differential; no increase in energy use
