Dragin / Dragout Rinsing
Description
- Dip the part in the same rinsing solution before and after the plating bath
Advantages
- Process chemicals (rather then pure water) are transferred into the process bath through dragout
- Up to ½ of the chemicals lost from a process tank can be carried back
- Reduce the concentration in later rinse by up to ½
Limitations
- Can cause a build-up of contaminants
Implementation Process
- Use one tank, or hydraulically connect two tanks (one on either side of the process bath)
- Ideal for systems that have low evaporation
- Train and monitor employees – give incentives for superior performance
