Dragin / Dragout Rinsing

Description

  • Dip the part in the same rinsing solution before and after the plating bath

Advantages

  • Process chemicals (rather then pure water) are transferred into the process bath through dragout
  • Up to ½ of the chemicals lost from a process tank can be carried back
  • Reduce the concentration in later rinse by up to ½

Limitations

  • Can cause a build-up of contaminants

Implementation Process

  • Use one tank, or hydraulically connect two tanks (one on either side of the process bath)
  • Ideal for systems that have low evaporation
  • Train and monitor employees – give incentives for superior performance
